On March 26th 2011, Maggie Holmes, and trekking partner, Mary Tatham, will trek to Base Camp, on Mount Everest, at an altitude of 17,590 feet.
The purpose of making this trek is to raise $29,035 ( the height of the summit itself ) which will be used to;
- raise awareness about youth mental health in Grey/Bruce;
- be targeted toward specific programs which provide assistance to youth with mental health issues in Grey/Bruce
This Trek is endorsed by the Canadian Mental Health Association (Grey/Bruce).
I am so very proud of my neice Maggie – I only wish I
was young enough to go with her – Aunt Reta
To Maggie Holmes and Mary Tatham, This is a bold and inspiring initiative for a special and most worthy cause. I will follow your progress with great interest. Very best to you, Mary Susan MacDonald ♥

Maggie and Mary … all the very best. No one’s life is in ever in vain … it warms my heart knowing that so many people will be touched by your journey, both financially and emotionally. Blessings to you both and those in your families that are supporting this the cause of mental illness. There are very few people that have not been touched in one way or another: a family member, a friend or colleague. Mental illness touches us all …. Thank you both … and may God bless you on your journey … Caroline, Randy and Talia Wright

My wife Jennifer and I wish you all the best on your trek. You read a bit about our adventure on the CapreolOnLine site – it was an experience we will never forget. It is not easy, but it is very rewarding, and when you spend time in the Himalaya (especially the monasteries) you will experience something special. You are tackling this challenge for a very good cause. Please feel free to contact us for a few ingredients to the recipe for success.
